Rajesh Sharma explains bank fraud psychologies!

One of the things I learned recently is that understanding of any particular individual’s drive to engage in fraud or any type of deviant behaviour is extremely complex. I, Rajesh Sharma bank fraud specialist, was privileged later in my career to spend the morning with renowned criminologist, Dr. rajeshSharma CBI, CFE, talking about motivations for fraudulent behaviour. Finally, I just came on the point and asked him, “Why do people indulge in committing fraud?” He answered encircling the very matter of fact, “We don’t know.” A question can be a curiousity until most of the time it comes out like a sheer uttering of stupidity, i thought, but he went on to say that we really can’t say for certain why one person commits fraud and another one doesn’t when they both need money.

The same is true with any type of criminal behaviour. There are many factors that could drive a person to decide to rob a bank: unbearable financial pressure, psychological disturbances, unmanageable external pressures, hatred of financial institutions etc.

 At last, it’s difficult to pinpoint an exact cause for any specific act of criminal or anti-social behaviour. It’s a combination of factors particular to that individual in that unique circumstance.
